100,000 Artisans to Sit for National Skill-Up Examinations

At least 100,000 trainees under the Industrial Training Fund’s Skill-Up Artisans Programme, SUPA, are set to take nationwide examinations on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. The tests, to be conducted by the Chartered Institute of Project Management of Nigeria, will assess proficiency in project management, occupational health and safety, and professional ethics.

The Director-General of ITF, Mr Afiz Ogun, said the initiative is aimed at equipping Nigerian artisans with globally recognised certifications to boost employment prospects, reduce poverty, and prepare them for international opportunities. He confirmed ongoing partnerships with City and Guilds London, Turkish firm ALBERK QA TECHNIC, and other global bodies.

The SUPA framework is structured in three tiers: foundational training, soft skills assessment, and advanced technical learning. Graduates of the programme will secure certifications that validate their skills for local employment, international placements, or entrepreneurship.
