The Gaza Government Media Office says the number of journalists killed since the Israeli attacks begun last year has now risen to 137.
TheĀ statement follows the death of a photojournalist and editor, Abdel Wahab Awni, who, the Media Office says, was killed after the Israeli army bombed his home in the al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, the office said in a statement.
According to Al Jazeera, a record number of journalists have been killed in the besieged enclave since October 7, including multiple Al Jazeera journalists.
