137 Journalists Killed Since Start Of Israeli Attacks, Says Gaza Media Office

The Gaza Government Media Office says the number of journalists killed since the Israeli attacks begun last year has now risen to 137.

TheĀ  statement follows the death of a photojournalist and editor, Abdel Wahab Awni, who, the Media Office says, was killed after the Israeli army bombed his home in the al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, the office said in a statement.

According to Al Jazeera, a record number of journalists have been killed in the besieged enclave since October 7, including multiple Al Jazeera journalists.

The Gaza Media Office says the Israeli forces are targeting journalists, with the latest attack being a journalists tent in the courtyard of the al-Aqsa Hospital, killing at least four people.

The Committee to Protect Journalists says as of March 30, it’s preliminary investigations show that at least 95 journalists and media workers are among the more than 33,000 people killed since the attacks began on October 7, with more than 32,600 Palestinian deaths in Gaza and the West Bank, and 1,200 deaths in Israel.
