14 escaped inmates have been recaptured so far from the Suleja Medium Security Custodial Centre in Niger State.
The Spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Adamu Duza, made the announcement on Thursday evening.
A heavy downpour on Wednesday night damaged some buildings and the perimeter fencing of the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Suleja, Niger State, facilitating the escape of 119 inmates.

Ten fleeing inmates were earlier recaptured.
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who inspected the facility after the downpour, said there is an urgent need for reforms in over 240 custodial centres nationwide, as he pledged the Federal Government’s dedication to bringing the remaining fleeing inmates back into custody.
