At least 14 people, including women and babies, have been killed in a fresh attack in Plateau State. The victims were ambushed by gunmen along Chirang road in Bokkos Local Government Area as they returned from a weekly market on Thursday evening.
The Bokkos Cultural Development Forum described the killings as shocking, saying they occurred despite ongoing peace efforts between farming and herding communities. The group blamed the attack on individuals it claims are seeking to take over farmlands in the area.

However, the local herding association, Gan Allah Fulani Development Association, has denied any involvement. Its chairman, Saleh Adamu, said there is no evidence linking Fulani herders to the killings and called for a thorough investigation. Security agencies have yet to issue an official statement.
