Fresh data has emerged showing that 15 villages in Zamfara state were attacked between 4 and 10 August 2025. A situational report by the Zamfara Circle Community Initiative revealed that 144 people were kidnapped, 24 killed, and 16 injured in the incidents.
The report listed the affected communities in Bakura Local Government Area as Sabe, Tungar Yamma, Sauru, Lambasu, Dogon Madacci, Dankalgo, and Kwanar Kalgo. In Tsafe Local Government Area, the attacks took place in Chediya, Kucheri, Yankuzo, and Katangar Gabas Bilbils.

In Mafara Local Government Area, the targeted villages included Tabkin Rama, Matsafa, and Ruwan Gizo, while Rafin Jema in Gummi Local Government Area, and the communities of Adabka and Masu in Bukkuyum were also hit.
The Zamfara Circle Community Initiative said the persistent attacks highlight the urgent need for enhanced security measures to safeguard rural populations from armed groups operating across the state.
