The chairman of the investigation committee on the Majia tanker explosion in Jigawa State, Hafizu Inuwa, has submitted his report to Governor Umar Namadi.
The October 14 incident, which occurred along the Kano-Hadejia expressway in Taura LGA, initially claimed 181 lives, according to Governor Namadi. However, the investigation committee has now confirmed that 209 people died in the tragedy, with 210 families affected.

In his report, Inuwa identified factors such as damaged fuel pumps, potholes, night driving, and excessive speed as the causes of the explosion.
He added that the committee visited affected communities, health facilities, and consulted key stakeholders to arrive at its conclusions.
