The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says at least 25 persons died in an accident that occurred along the Kano-Kaduna highway on Monday.
In a statement, the corps’ public education officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, said the accident occurred around 3:15am and involved a trailer conveying about 90 persons.
He added that the truck driver has been arrested and handed over to the police for investigation and possible prosecution.

Shehu Mohammed, FRSC corps marshal, urged traditional and religious leaders to support the corps in the campaign against conveying humans, goods and animals together in articulated vehicles.
