The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Edo says 2,629,025 voters are registered for the forthcoming governorship poll in the state.
The off-cycle governorship election in Edo will be held on September 21.
The announcement was made in Benin by Professor Rhoda Gamus, the INEC National Commissioner supervising Edo, Delta, and Bayelsa states, during the presentation of the voter register for the election to chairmen and secretaries of political parties.

Mr. Onuoha said the act mandates the commission to present the voter register to political parties 30 days before the election.
