39 People killed as Israeli bombardment continues in Gaza

At least 39 Palestinians, including two children, have been killed in Israel’s latest bombardment of Gaza, according to medical sources. It comes on top of 72 deaths reported across the territory in the past 24 hours.

Ten people were killed in Gaza City, where Israeli forces continue strikes on residential buildings while laying siege to the area. Rights group Amnesty International has described the operation as “unlawful and inhumane”.

Reports say an Israeli strike near Yarmouk Street killed two people, including an infant, while another child died when forces opened fire in Bureij camp. Further casualties were reported in Shujayea, Rafah, and Khan Younis.

The Times of Israel says around 200,000 Palestinians have already fled Gaza City in recent weeks as Israel prepares a major offensive against Hamas.
