The Minister of Health, Muhammad Ali Pate, says 67% of the doctors and nurses trained in Nigeria work in the United Kingdom.
Speaking on a television program monitored by Radio Now’s Newsdesk, the minister said if health workers of Nigerian origin leave the UK’s National Health Service, the service will struggle, as 25% of its workforce is Nigerian.
He also spoke on the new National Policy on Health Workforce Migration approved by President Bola Tinubu to tackle the exodus of health workers from Nigeria.
