The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has closed down a warehouse in Kaduna for storing expired food and cosmetic products valued at over 75 million Naira. This action was taken after a tip-off from a concerned citizen, leading NAFDAC officials to the facility located on PP2A Bayajidda Street, near Kano Road, in the New Ogbomosho area.

During the raid, expired products were uncovered, including “H-Pylori” test kits, which pose significant risks to public health. The total value of the seized goods exceeds seven million Naira. The warehouse’s managing director has been arrested for questioning as the investigation progresses.

NAFDAC has assured that strict regulatory measures will be imposed once the investigation is complete. The agency highlighted its commitment to ensuring the safety of all food, medicine, and cosmetic products in Nigeria.

The agency further stressed that since November 2024, it has been enforcing new guidelines for the disposal of unwholesome products. NAFDAC urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or products to their nearest office.
