90% of Boko Haram Insurgents Contained in North-East say Governor Zulum
The Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Zulum

Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, says the Federal Government and security forces have successfully contained 90 percent of Boko Haram terrorists in the North-East. Speaking on a TV interview monitored by Radio Now’s News Desk, Gov. Zulum acknowledged the presence of some insurgent pockets in Borno but expressed optimism that the region would witness significant improvement within the next two years as military operations intensify.

He credited the progress to the efforts of the Nigerian military, the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), and the resilience of the people of Borno State. Gov. Zulum highlighted regional collaborations with Cameroon, Chad, Niger, and Mali as vital in combating terrorism and expressed hope that insurgency would be eliminated in the near future.

The governor also addressed the controversial tax reform bills proposed by President Bola Tinubu, stressing that the northern governors advised its withdrawal because the proposed reforms would disproportionately favour Lagos State at the expense of other states, including those in the north.
