The 2020 security report by the Kaduna state government shows that 937 people have been killed throughout the State by bandits with 1,962 others kidnapped. This was contained in a presentation by the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan yesterday in the presence of traditional rulers, members of the civil society organizations and the media at the Government House in Kaduna. In his presentation, he spoke on the reason for the attacks in some of the worst hit local governments.

He assured the people that despite the challenges, the government in collaboration with security agencies will continue to work hard to bring the problems to an end.
Speaking at the end of the presentation by the commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, the state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in his speech, reinforced his position on negotiating with bandits.

The insecurity plaguing some local government areas in the state has also left thousands homeless as they have had to flee to internally displaced persons camps or other parts of the state and even neighbouring states for a fresh start.
