Defence ministers of Russia, Turkey, and Syria held talks in Moscow over joint efforts in resolving the crisis in Syria, solving the refugee problem, and combatting extremist groups in the country.Â
The meeting which was held yesterday was attended by Hulusi Akar, Turkish Defence Minister, and Hakan Fidan, the head of the Turkish Intelligence Organisation (MIT), as well as Ali Mahmoud Abbas Syrian Defence Minister, and Ali Mamlouk, Syrian intelligence chief. Â
Sergei Shoigu, Russia’s defence minister was also present at the meeting.Â
According to a statement by the Russian defence ministry Turkish, Russian and Syrian defence ministers as well as intelligence chiefs have agreed to continue tripartite meetings to ensure stability in Syria and in the region as a whole.Â
