I’m very strong, ready for task ahead – Tinubu replies critics

The President-elect, Bola Tinubu, has expressed readiness to hit the ground running, declaring himself very strong for the task ahead.

Mr. Tinubu was received by a crowd of associates and supporters who were at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja where his private jet touched down.

Among those waiting to receive him at the airport were Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima; House of Representatives Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila; Governors Simon Lalong (Plateau); Abubakar Sani-Bello (Niger) and former Borno State Governor, Ali Modu Sheriff.

Others were former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole; ex-Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; APC Deputy National Chairman for North, Senator Abubakar Kyari; Deputy National Chairman for South, Barrister Emma Enekwu, and National Woman Leader, Dr. Betta Edu.

Addressing the crowd who followed him home, the President-Elect urged them to ignore some of the speculations making the round in the last one month that he was rushed abroad over his alleged ill health.

Saying he left the country on March 21 for vacation after a hectic campaign and election season, he also told his supporters he was happy to be back, was rested, refreshed, and ready for the task ahead.

Urging them to set what he calls rumours aside, he says he is very strong, and that while he was in Paris, he never stopped working and kept ‘consulting and planning’ with a view to putting together a strong team so he could hit the ground running once he assumes office on May 29.

The health condition of the President-elect has been a subject of conversation in recent times, as critics claim it could pose a challenge to the incoming administration.
