Reps Urge APC To Reconsider Stance On 10th NASS Leadership

The All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus at the House of Representatives has appealed to the party to reconsider its position on the zoning of leadership positions of the 10th National Assembly.

Deputy Speaker of the House, Honourable Idris Wase, who is aspiring to lead the House in the 10th National Assembly, led his colleagues to the APC National Secretariat on Wednesday in Abuja to state their position. Addressing the party Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, he said none of the members present at the meeting was approached and consulted before the decision was made.

Recall the APC National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Felix Morka, on Monday, announced zoning the Senate Presidency of the 10th National Assembly to the South-South and named Sen. Godswill Akpabio as the preferred candidate.

The party also zoned the Deputy Senate Presidency to the North- West, Speaker of the House of Representatives to North-West and the Deputy Speaker to the South-East.

The APC scribe also said the party took the zoning decision after consultations with stakeholders and meeting with the President-elect, Sen. Bola Tinubu.
