The Police Service Commission (PSC) has condemned in strong terms the assault of a Police Officer by Mr. Seun Kuti.
The Commission commended the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba for his prompt action in ordering the arrest and prosecution of Mr Kuti whom, the commission says, has diminished the sanctity of the symbol of authority of the Nigerian nation.
In a statement issued by the Force spokesperson on Saturday night, the IGP ordered the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, to arrest the afrobeat singer who was captured on video assaulting a police officer in uniform.

Mr. Kuti claimed that the policeman tried to kill him and his family. He also added that he had proof, and the policeman had apologised.
Speaking on the order to arrest him, the singer said he welcomed the investigation.
Speaking on the matter, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Solomon Arase, said no matter the offence the Police Officer committed, nobody, including Seun Kuti, has the right to assault an officer in uniform and on official duty.
