THE Chairperson Senate Committee on Aviation, Senator Biodun Olujimi, says increases in airfares and poor implementation of aviation policies are impeding the growth of the country’s aviation sector.
The Senator was speaking during the 2nd National Conference of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, where she urged the Federal Government to halt further encroachment of airport facilities.
She notes that it has a negative toll on the growth of the sector.

The Senator also describes the fuss between the Federal Government and the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, and other workforce as unnecessary, she called concerned parties to resolve their differences behind closed doors.
Also speaking on the matter, the Managing Director, FAAN, Captain Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu, said the conference was aimed at furthering partnership and sustainability, as part of efforts to mitigate challenges hampering the aviation sector.
Also, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, represented by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, noted that under the Buhari-led administration, the Ministry has achieved remarkable growth in the aviation roadmap.
