Two speakers have emerged to lead the 7th House of Assembly in Nasarawa State.
Honourables Ibrahim Balarabe and Daniel Ogazi, both from the western zone of the state and members of the APC, are laying claim to the speakership.
The inauguration of the house and election of speaker and deputy speaker was initially scheduled to take place on Tuesday, June 6 but the clerk announced a postponement citing security concerns.

Hon Ogazi and Hon. Adamu Oyanki emerged as speaker and Deputy Speaker after 13 members voted at the assembly complex which was barricaded by security personnel, forcing them to remain within the premises till 6pm.
Meanwhile, Honourable Balarabe and Honourable Jacob Kudu were elected as speaker and deputy respectively by 11 members at one of the state ministries and sworn in by Ibrahim Musa, the acting clerk of the Assembly.
Governor Abdullahi Sule received Honourables Ibrahim Balarabe and Jacob Kudu, and other members of his faction at the Nasarawa State Government House in Lafia.
