The Benue State Governor, Rev. Father Hyacinth Alia, says he was left without a single official car when he assumed his duties at the state government house.
He made this revelation in a response to calls by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state asking for a reversal of his decision to nullify all last-minute appointments made by his predecessor, Samuel Ortom.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary Mr. Tersoo Kula, the Governor also said he inherited an empty treasury and a debt profile of over N187 billion as well as an accumulation of months of unpaid salaries and entitlements of civil servants and pensioners in the state.
