The Lagos State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has disqualified a witness, Erastus Ofoma, from testifying against Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
Mr Ofoma was subpoenaed by Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour the 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP) .
The Chairman of the three-member tribunal committee, Justice Arum Igyen-Ashom, ordered Mr Ofoma to step down based on a technicality.

The tribunal held that the witness’ statement on oath was uploaded outside the 21 days stipulated under the Electoral Act.
The tribunal ruled on the matter after taking submissions from counsels representing parties in the petition.
