The lawyers – about 60 in number – filed the suit in regards to what they describe as a violation of multiple court judgments and orders directing the agency to release the suspended Central Bank Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele.

The group led by Mr Maxwell Opara and Mr Ahmed Tijani, asked the court to commit the head of the SSS to prison until it clears itself of the contempt.
Mr. Opara, who addressed the press after filing the charges, said the group will pursue the matter to its logical conclusion and ensure the Director-General of the State Security Service, Yusuf Magaji Bichi, was sent to prison.
