President Bola Tinubu has written to the Senate regarding the confirmation of appointments of members and the Executive Management of the governing board of the North East Development Commission (NEDC).
The board had served out its first term in the previous administration, but former President Muhammadu Buhari did not renew their tenure.Â
Stakeholders from the North East, including governors, had objected to the appointments, saying they were not carried along.

If the request is granted, General Paul Tarfa (rtd) will serve another term as board Chair, along with Mohammed Alkali, the former Managing Director.
