In their first match against Canada, reigning champions of the Women’s World Cup, Nigeria came to a nil-nil draw.
The Super Falcons put up a strong performance despite Canada’s domination on the field.
The game went into 8 minutes of stoppage time and saw Deborah Abiodun sent off with a red card.

Praises were given to Chiamaka Nnadozie for her multiple saves, and while the Nigerian side made off with 1 yellow card, their Canadian counterparts drummed up 2 yellow cards.
The Falcons are set to face the Australian Matildas in their second game of the tournament on July 27th.
