Lagos Government Diverts Traffic In Yaba, Ojuelegba, Mushin, Reveals Alternative Routes

Starting today, traffic will be diverted in Red Line between Oyingbo and Agbado, due to the ongoing construction of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit.

Motorists in Murtala Muhammed Way, Yaba; Apapa Road, Oyingbo; and Ojuelegba Road will be diverted for a total of 10 weeks, and those plying the Kayode and Ogunmokun Streets in the Mushin area will see traffic diverted for 22 weeks.

In a statement signed by Abdulhafiz Toriola, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transportation two days ago, alternative routes were suggested. Motorists on Muritala Mohammed Way have been diverted from Abeokuta Street into Borno Way to link Coasts Street and access Muritala Mohammed Way, or alternately, use Cemetery Street to continue their journey.

Or, Motorists may also use Ojuelegba/Tejuosho slip road from Muritala Mohammed Way to continue their journeys.

Motorists on Kayode Street moving towards Mushin have been diverted via Jibowu to Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway to link Ogunmokun Street;
Motorists on Ogunmokun Street have been diverted to Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, via Ilupeju Bypass to link Ikorodu Road.

While calling on motorists to be patient, the Works Ministry Permanent Secretary says the lane closure is part of the traffic management plans for the construction of Mushin Overpass Phase 1 project.
