Nigeria’s journey to a first ever Women’s World Cup continued today with a draw against the Republic of Ireland. 90 plus minutes of the action saw Nigeria dominate the play as the game wore on. Nigeria had several chances to win the game via star striker Asisat Oshoala who narrowly missed when through on goal in the 14th minute.

However, the Republic of Ireland’s Courtney Brosnana would pull off the save of the game in the 52nd minute to deny Uchenna Kanu’s goal bound header.
The draw sees Nigeria finish second in Group B and qualify for the round of 16 and a class against England.
