A House of Representatives ad hoc committee has called for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Hon. Obinna Aguocha, chairman of the committee, made the call yesterday, at a hearing to ensure criminal activities in Isuikwuato and Umunneochi LGAs of Abia state are nipped in the bud.

The committee was interfacing with security agencies.
The lawmaker said the release of the IPOB leader is necessary for the restoration of peace in the south-east.
