Respect Court Order, AGF Tells Organised Labour

The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) & Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, has asked organised labour to respect the June 5 restraining order that bars any industrial action over fuel subsidy removal and related issues.

In a letter to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the Trade Union Congress (TUC), and Femi Falana SAN, the Minister described the planned indefinite strike as a violation of the subsisting order and a disregard of the dignity and integrity of the National Industrial court.

The AGF urged Mr. Falana to prevail on the labour bodies to respect the order of the court and allow room for ongoing negotiations between parties on how to address the challenges associated with the fuel subsidy removal.
