President Bola Tinubu says his administration will commence the conditional cash transfer to 15 million additional poor households in October.
Speaking during his first Independence Anniversary speech, he pledged to boost employment and urban incomes.

While paying tribute to those who had made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation, President Tinubu promised the armed forces will be equipped with the ways and means needed to perform their urgent task.
Independence Day commemoration was low-key in some states with governors, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, citing the current state of the economy.
