Libya Orders Detention Of Brussels Envoy Over Corruption Charges

Libya’s Prosecutor-General ordered the detention of the country’s ambassador to Brussels over alleged corruption, shortly after the internationally recognised government in Tripoli dismissed her from office.

The office of the prosecutor said former ambassador Amel Jerary was questioned about “administrative and financial abuses” allegedly used to “obtain illicit material advantages by illegally seizing public funds and causing harm to public interest”.
