Senate President Godswill Akpabio says he was stuck for hours on the Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta expressway as a result of bad roads.
Speaking at the grand finale of the Yewa Cultural Festival in Ilaro in the Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State this weekend, the Senate President, who was accompanied by 70 senators to the event, said he insisted on driving to the venue in order to have first-hand experience of what people go through on the road everyday.

He said it took his team more than two hours to drive to Ilaro from Lagos. He pledged to work with the Ogun Governor, Dapo Abiodun, to improve the road conditions in the area.
On his part, Governor Abiodun pleaded with the Senate to prevail on the Federal Government to transfer the reconstruction of the Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta Road to the state, saying it is important to the socio-economic development of the state.
