Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, has unveiled the million-dollar film city in the Epe LGA of the state to enhance the creative economy.
The governor performed the groundbreaking ceremony of the project situated on a 100-hectare land area at Ikosi-Ejinrin area of Epe — on Wednesday.
In a statement, Jubril Gawat, the senior special assistant to the governor on new media, says the film city is expected to generate numerous job opportunities, stimulate economic growth, and attract investment.

He says the project, which is believed to be worth $100 million, is envisioned as a comprehensive hub for various aspects of filmmaking, with collaboration from key players in the entertainment sector.
He added that the initiative aligns with Sanwo-Olu’s agenda, which focuses on entertainment and tourism as part of the governance framework.
