Former Manchester United winger Nani has criticised the current squad’s lack of “fighting spirit” after recent heavy defeats.
United suffered their second 3-0 home loss in a week on Wednesday against Newcastle to exit the League Cup. The home loss followed last Sunday’s defeat by rivals Manchester City in the Premier League.
Reflecting on his old club’s struggles, Nani said one of the things that defined the club during his time there, was the mental strength displayed by the team in matches, even if they were losing 3-nil with 15 or 10 minutes left in the game.
