A ValueJet CRJ 900 Bombardier aircraft overshot the runway at Port-Harcourt International Airport yesterday, causing momentary panic and chaos among passengers.
Explaining the cause of the incident, the managing director of ValueJet, Capt. Dapo Majekodunmi, said the captain of the aircraft, Stanley Balami, reported the slip was a result of algae on the taxiway, which prevented the aircraft from maintaining the centerline.
