The Lagos state government, yesterday, dislodged some illegal occupants in Ijegun while also announcing plans to demolish shanties in the area.
The Lagos Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, in a statement on X says the action is in continuation of the government’s sanitisation of school environments across the state.
He also said the operation followed the expiration of served statutory notices on clear breaches of the provision of the 2017 Lagos State Environmental Management Planning law as it concerns illegal structures by the perimeter fence/roadside, and erecting structures on the drainage alignment.
