Nigerians Permitted To Film, Take Photos Of Police Officers On Duty, Adejobi Says

The Nigeria Police Force today reiterated that Nigerians can video or take pictures of officers on duty.

The spokesperson of the Nigerian Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said this while reacting to a post by a user on X who asked if it is a crime to video during stop and search because he had to pay N10,000 to some Police officers to give him back his phone after taking it forcefully from him.

In his words , Adejobi said “You can video or take pictures of policemen on duty. We have said it several times. There is nothing wrong with that,”

“You can take up the case. Send an sms to me or to our email box, Pressforabuja@police.gov.ng. you can as well talk to your PPRO. Thanks.”

Meanwhile, another X user said the campaign Adejobi is pushing is good but the problem is the message is getting to the citizens but not the officers on the ground.

Adejobi replied to him, saying that every policeman knows that videoing and taking pictures of them on duty is allowed and permitted.

He added that those who attack or harass people for such are just deviants, recalcitrant and unprofessional.
