The Lagos State Police Command has arrested and arraigned a 33-year-old man, Mr. Akinyemi Akintayo, for assaulting police officers in December.
In a statement, the Lagos State Police Public Relations officer, Superintendent of Police Benjamin Hundeyin, said after weeks on the run, Akinyemi Akintayo, a resident of Ayobo, was arrested and arraigned.

The assault is said to have occurred on December 8, 2023.
Section 356 part (2) of the Criminal Code Act in Nigeria says any person who assaults, resists, or wilfully obstructs a police officer while acting in the execution of his duty, or any person acting in aid of a police officer while so acting, is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for three years.
