Rising Costs Could Trigger Unrest, Warns AfDB

The African Development Bank (AfDB) warns that a further increase of fuel and commodity prices in Nigeria , Angola and Kenya could trigger unrest.

The bank gave the warning in its Macroeconomic Performance and Outlook for 2024, in which it projected a 3.8%  growth rate for Africa in 2024.

There have already been cost-related protests in Minna, the Niger State capital, and Kano, even as the federal government is said to be under pressure to further increase energy prices by the IMF.
