Pogba To Appeal Four-Year Ban, Denies Doping Allegation

France star Paul Pogba says he will appeal a four-year ban from football handed to him by Italy’s anti-doping tribunal after testing positive for testosterone last August.

Taking to his instagram, the player said he is sad, shocked and heartbroken that everything he has built in his professional playing career has been taken away from him.

Declaring the verdict as “incorrect”, he denied ever using performance-enhancing substances.

The ban means he will not be able to play again until the 2027/28 season, by which time he will be 34.

Anti-doping prosecutors had called for the four-year ban to be imposed on the former Manchester United midfielder, who tested positive following Juventus’s opening match of the Italian Serie A season against Udinese on August 20, during which he was an unused substitute.
