Zenith Bank Appoints Its First Female CEO

Zenith Bank has named Ms. Adaora Umeoji as its new Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

The company secretary, Mr. Michael Otu, in a statement, says her appointment will take effect from June 1, 2024, following the expiration of office of the current Group Managing Director, Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, on May 31, 2024.

Before her appointment, Ms. Umeoji was the Deputy Managing Director of the bank, a position she has held since October 2016. She has nearly 30 years of banking experience of which 26 years have been with Zenith Bank.
