Governor Sanwo-Olu Orders Indefinite Closure Of Dosumu Market After Fire

 

The Lagos State Government has directed the suspension of commercial activities at Dosumu Street and its environs.

The decision follows a fire incident which broke out around 11:30am yesterday, engulfing four buildings in the area, and leading to the collapse of two buildings.

Announcing the closure and immediate suspension of business activities in the market and its environs, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts, CBD, Mrs. Bola Olumegbon-Lawal, says the measure became necessary in order to prevent possible loss of life, as well as maintain peace and order in the area.

She  listed the markets affected by the closure to include: Dosumu, Nnamdi Azikwe, Moshalashi, Woro Pedro, Obanikoro Streets. Others are; Ago Tawa, Idumagbo Avenue, Idumagbo, Ido – Oluwo and Oju Olobun Streets.
