Those Threatening Nigeria’s Sovereignty Will Pay The Price, Tinubu Warns

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday gave a strong warning to ethnic agitators, saying that those who think they can threaten the sovereignty of Nigeria will have a heavy price to pay.

Speaking when he received leaders of Afenifere, the Yoruba Socio-Cultural Organization led by Pa Reuben Fasoranti, leader of Afenifere; Oba Falae, alongside other eminent citizens, at the State House in Abuja, the President’s threat comes on the heels of the recent incident in which some people from the South West embarked on agitation for Yoruba nation.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu said he is irrevocably committed to the unity of Nigeria and constitutional democracy.

The president also said constitutional democracy is reflected greatly since he assumed office, and what the administration faces now is the challenge of terrorism.

While adding that the government has achieved great success by degrading terrorism to a level that it cannot threaten the sovereignty of Nigeria any longer, he emphasised that banditry and kidnapping will be defeated.
