The rerun of the All Progressives Congress, APC, gubernatorial primary election in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State on Sunday recorded a low turnout in some wards. This is according to the News Agency of Nigeria.
The Governor Usman Ododo-led APC Primary Election Committee had declared the exercise which was held on Saturday in the 203 wards in 18 local government areas of the state, inconclusive, as the electoral process in 13 wards in Okitipupa Local Government Area suffered some hitches.
The 13 wards have a total number of 9,515 validated registered members.

Chief Adebayo Ogunedowo, an APC chieftain in the state, called for the cancellation of the primaries, saying voters were scared of being lynched or injured because of the breakout of violence at some wards in the state. Mrs Folakemi Omogoroye, a female governorship aspirant in the party, also called for the cancellation of the party’s primary election.
Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State and 15 other aspirants contested to be the party’s flag bearer ahead of the November 16 governorship election in the state.Â
