Osun, Anambra Residents Paid Over N17,000 For 12.5kg Cooking Gas In April, Says NBS

The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, says residents in Osun, Anambra and Bayelsa states paid the highest amount for liquefied petroleum gas, popularly known as cooking gas, in April.

The average price for refilling a 12.5 kilogram cylinder of cooking gas in April was N15,637.74.

In its ‘Liquefied Petroleum Gas Price Watch’ report for April, the NBS also said the average retail price of cooking gas increased by 51.48 percent from a lower cost of N10,323 in April 2023.

On a state profile analysis, Osun State recorded the highest average retail price for the refilling of a 12.5kilogram Cylinder of Cooking Gas with N17,801, followed by Anambra State with N17,142 and Bayelsa State with N16,975.

According to the report, the lowest average price was recorded in Bauchi with N13,745, followed by Kogi and Adamawa with N13,967 and N14,088 respectively.
