Falana Accuses NNPCL of Illegal Price Fixing, Violating Petroleum Act

Veteran human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has slammed the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) for what he calls an illegal move to fix petrol prices. In a statement on Thursday, Falana argued that NNPCL’s actions blatantly violate the Petroleum Industry Act, which governs the sector.

While the company claims the market is deregulated and prices should be dictated by market forces, Falana pointed out that NNPCL set the price of fuel refined by Dangote’s refinery just last month.
