The Sports Minister, John Enoh, has reported the ill-treatment received by the Super Eagles upon landing in Libya to relevant authorities.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that the team was left unattended to at the airport, as depicted in a video shared by the Eagles media team, showing players and officials stranded with no assistance from Libyan airport officials.

Scheduled for a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Libya, the SUper Eagles encountered a series of challenges upon their arrival in the country.

Reports revealed that the team, initially bound for the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benina, was redirected to another city. Following more than 14 hours of delay at the Al Abraq Airport, the Libyan government finally granted clearance for the Nigerian delegation to return home.
