The Biden administration has sent a letter to Israel urging immediate action to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza within 30 days or risk violating U.S. laws governing military assistance.

The letter, signed by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, was addressed to Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer.

It highlights concerns over the sharp decline in aid deliveries to Gaza, which have dropped by more than 50% since March, with September seeing the lowest amount in a year.

The U.S. is pushing for urgent, sustained efforts to reverse this trend, warning that military aid could be at risk. The 30-day deadline extends beyond the U.S. presidential election on November 5.
