Negotiations aimed at securing a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages are set to resume in Doha in the coming days. Israeli officials have confirmed that a delegation will travel to Qatar on Sunday as part of efforts to broker a deal, though it remains unclear whether Hamas will participate in the upcoming talks.
Speaking to reporters, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that with Yahya Sinwar, the slain Hamas leader, no longer in the picture, there may be a real opportunity to bring home hostages and move toward an agreement that would see Israel withdraw.
He emphasized the importance of preventing Hamas from regrouping and allowing Palestinians the chance to rebuild their futures.
