The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has summoned judges who issued conflicting rulings on political matters in Rivers State.
A National Judicial Council (NJC) panel, led by a retired Justice of the Court of Appeal alongside two serving heads of court, has been assigned to investigate the judges’ actions and submit their findings this week.
The summons follow formal complaints lodged with the NJC.
Justice Kekere-Ekun has also called the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court for questioning on Tuesday.
Next week, the Chief Judge of the Rivers State High Court is also expected to appear before the council’s panel in connection with these issues.
