At least 51 people have been killed in flash floods across Spain’s eastern region of Valencia, following torrential rains on Tuesday. The heavy storms triggered widespread flooding, with video footage showing vehicles being swept away by the rising, mud-filled waters.
Over 1,000 soldiers have been deployed to assist in rescue efforts, while Spain’s central government has set up a crisis committee to coordinate the response.
Authorities have urged residents to avoid road travel and to stay updated through official channels as rescue operations continue. The death toll remains provisional, with emergency services still recovering and identifying bodies.
